Ski Softball is the original Snowdown event, which began 35 years ago between the Ski Patrol and the Ride School at Purgatory Ski Resort. The name of the resort has changed (Durango Mountain Resort), but the tradition has not. Every year the rivalry is revived as on a snowy baseball diamond, where each team attempts to prove which side is better at softball on skis (and snowboards).
